How to get involved

Participation is open to anyone who voluntarily cares for a family member or loved one, whether they live together or not. No filming experience or professional equipment is required: you can send us videos you already shot or shoot new ones using your smartphone, as well as professional equipment.

What can you tell?
Capture a moment from your day, share what you are experiencing or let a gesture, a setting, or a sound speak for you, whether on your own or with a loved one. We're not looking for a perfect testimonial or script; we want to see reality from your point of view.

Showing your face or that of the person you are caring for is neither mandatory nor forbidden. If you wish, you can frame just your hands, a room, an object, or your surroundings. If you choose to film yourself or other people, ensure you comply with the privacy and GDPR rules outlined on the registration page.

A few ideas
Don't follow a set path.
You can start with one of these suggestions, combine several of them, or tell a completely different story:

  • A daily gesture: an action that is part of your caregiving routine with your loved one
  • A moment for yourself: a space, however brief, where you can rest for a while
  • An object or a sound: something telling the story of your day without needing a lot of explanation
  • A tender moment, a joyful one, or a difficult and unexpected one: the exhaustion, the anger, an unforeseen event, but also a laugh or a moment of lightness, instants of pure joy
  • Something you want to pass through: what you would like to say or show to those who are not directly familiar with this reality

Basic technical specifications
  • You can submit one or more videos, each lasting up to 5 minutes
  • Record the video in landscape mode
  • If you are speaking or recording a conversation, choose a location where voices can be heard clearly and ensure there is no background music
  • Don't worry about perfect shoots: shaky footage or non-professional lighting won't stop your contribution from telling an important story
  • What matters most is the authentic reality you want to share

What happens after submission?
The film
The working group, made of expert professionals from the film and video industry, will review the video submissions received.
Submission does not guarantee inclusion in the film; selection will depend on the overall narrative that takes shape during final editing and on the full range of video submissions received.
A care experiences archive
Selected materials may be used in whole or in part and edited together with contributions from other participants. Should we need clarification or wish to verify authorizations and release forms for the individuals filmed, we may contact you using the details provided at the time of submission.
Participants
Contributors may choose whether and how to be credited as project participants: by their real name, by a pseudonym or anonymously. Everyone who submits work will be included in the final acknowledgments, regardless of whether their clip is featured in the final edit.
Before submitting, you can review the full participation guidelines, including information on the intended use of the material and all terms and conditions.
